In 2019, Ghana successfully hosted The Year of Return, a year-long programme of activities to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the arrival of the first ever recorded enslaved Africans in the United States.
After the success of 2019 and the boost in tourism for Ghana, Beyond the Return was birthed. The Diaspora Initiative implemented by the Government of Ghana not only aims to promote tourism and home coming of Africans and Ghanaians in the diasporas but to foster economic relations and investments from the diaspora in Africa and Ghana.

Pay a visit to historical sites such as Cape Coast and Elmina slave castle.
