So you are looking to visit Ghana this December? Here are our top 5 picks of things to do/ see to get the full ‘Beyond the return’ experience.

In 2019, Ghana successfully hosted The Year of Return, a year-long programme of activities to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the arrival of the first ever recorded enslaved Africans in the United States.

After the success of 2019 and the boost in tourism for Ghana, Beyond the Return was birthed. The Diaspora Initiative implemented  by the Government of Ghana not only aims to promote tourism and home coming of Africans and Ghanaians in the diasporas but to foster economic relations and investments from the diaspora in Africa and Ghana.

You can also take part in an Accra city tour to see sites like Independence Square and Kwame Nkrumah memorial park, and experience the beauty, historic monuments and the great cultural heritage the city has to offer.
